Deep Plane Neck Lift

Many of the initial signs of facial aging make themselves known on the neck and jawline. A deep plane neck lift with Dr. Mark R. Murphy can help you regain your youthful appearance.

The neck lift is an incredibly valuable tool in the battle against facial aging. While many of us think of the aging process as being primarily limited to the face and brow, it’s also true that sagging, drooping, fine lines, and wrinkles can also impact your appearance on your neck and jawline, robbing you of your elegant, youthful contours and keeping you from showing the world the vibrant glow it has come to know. This is where the deep plane neck lift comes in.

Dr. Mark R. Murphy has extensive experience with plastic surgery of the face and neck, and is proud to offer his patients the deep plan neck lift approach. This technique goes a step further than the traditional neck lift, offering an ideal solution for male patients or patients with more extensive cosmetic goals. To learn more about the deep plane neck lift procedure, reach out to Palm Beach Facial Plastics and set up your initial consultation with a team member today.

Many patients come to our practice unsure as to whether or not they are the ideal candidate for a procedure like the deep plane neck lift. Dr. Murphy is adept at setting his patients at ease, and will work directly with you as he gets to know your cosmetic goals and guides you to the treatment option that is right for you and your lifestyle. You’re probably a great candidate for the deep plane neck lift if you’re interested in:

  • A customizable surgery whose results can be tailored directly to your unique physical characteristics and personal cosmetic goals
  • A neck lift approach that goes beyond the traditional surgery
  • More extensive correction of sagging, drooping, banding, and wrinkling
  • A more advanced treatment option
  • A treatment that will restore your neck and jawline’s youthful qualities

Before your neck lift procedure, you and Dr. Murphy will meet at our offices for an initial consultation. This will give both of you the chance to get to know each other as Dr. Murphy learns about your cosmetic goals and lifestyle while you ask him any questions you might have about his surgical experience and the techniques he’ll be using to create your results.

You’ll go over everything there is to know about the procedure itself, with Dr. Murphy explaining things like incision placement and exactly how long the procedure will last. He’ll answer any questions you might have about your surgery, as it’s our goal to give you a clear idea of what you can expect, so you can enjoy total peace of mind in the days leading up to your procedure.

This is also the point at which we’ll provide you with important information that will help you during your recovery process. We’ll give you a timeline that clearly outlines the experience you’ll have after your procedure, along with a set of aftercare instructions that will help you stay comfortable and ensure that you have a nice and speedy recovery experience.

Dr. Murphy, a renowned expert in the deep plane technique, may recommend combining a deep plane neck lift with a deep plane facelift for comprehensive rejuvenation. He has extensive experience in the method, having received training in 2003 and co-edited a textbook on facial rejuvenation in 2005. Dr. Murphy’s approach involves the extended deep plane neck lift, which goes beyond the standard deep plane facelift to achieve ideal neck contours. He prioritizes naturalistic results, leaving his patients looking at least ten years younger than their actual age.

Dr. Murphy’s holistic approach to facial rejuvenation considers the three pillars of physiologic aging: gravity, volume loss, and skin damage caused by sun exposure. He focuses on the three critical anatomic areas of the face: the brow/forehead, the cheek and midface, and the jowls and the neck. It’s crucial to address all of these aspects of aging in a single procedure to avoid a less-than-ideal or unnatural appearance. Patients who rely too heavily on fillers may experience “filler face,” while those who undergo a poorly performed, non-deep plane facelift may suffer from a stretched or pulled look. Both surgery and fillers have their place, but they are not interchangeable.

At Palm Beach Facial Plastic Surgery, excellence in facial rejuvenation, the deep plane neck lift and superior patient care are the driving forces. Dr. Mark Murphy’s artistic vision and surgical prowess set him apart. Your deep plane neck lift procedure will be performed while you are under general anesthesia. This means that you will be asleep throughout the procedure, and will not feel anything while it is being performed. In most cases, the deep plane neck lift takes between two and three hours to complete. Dr. Murphy will make incisions according to the treatment plan that you agreed upon before the day of your procedure. These incisions will enable him to lift and reposition your muscles and tissues, creating your ideal results before carefully closing the incisions.

After your procedure, you’ll spend some time in our recovery area before returning home to start the recovery process. Most patients are able to return to their normal routine within two to three months of their procedure, and we’ll be sure to schedule follow-up appointments that enable us to monitor your progress and ensure that you’re healing nicely.

We’ll also remain available to you at all times, should you have any questions or concerns during the recovery process. Your final results should be visible after about three to four months.
