Rhinoplasty (Nose Reshaping)

Clearly nothing has a greater impact on how a person looks than the size and shape of the nose. Because the nose is the most defining characteristic of the face, a slight alteration by Dr. Murphy can greatly improve one's appearance.

In consultation, Dr. Murphy will examine the structure of your nose, both externally and internally, to evaluate what you can expect from Rhinoplasty. When appropriate Dr. Murphy will use Digital Imaging to show you what you can expect to look like after surgery. Many patients will choose to have Chin Augmentation in conjunction with Rhinoplasty to create a better balance of your features.

You are most likely to be pleased with the results of your surgery if you have a realistic idea of what nasal surgery can and cannot do.

You can "Make Every Side Your Good Side".

A well defined chin helps give balance to the face and creates a major part of one's profile. When people look in the mirror, most focus on the size and shape of their noses, their ears, sagging jowls, or fine wrinkling of the skin. But even though few examine their chins with the same discerning eye, having a "weak chin" is certainly not an asset. As a board certified Facial Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Murphy is often the first to suggest that changes in chin size or shape may enhance a profile as much as the rhinoplasty.

Fortunately, this is a relatively straightforward procedure that can make a major difference in your facial symmetry. There are many shapes and sizes available for Chin Augmentation. Dr. Murphy will photograph you during the consultation process and use digital imaging software to show you what you can expect to look like after surgery.

Surgery is performed through a small incision in the natural crease under the chin, when healed it will be invisible. Dr. Murphy will then create a space for the implant by gently stretching the tissue over your chin. Once he has selected and implanted the shape and size most suitable for your facial structure Dr. Murphy will use fine sutures to close the incision.
